Oddity is a collective focusing on independent art house film.

Based in Helsinki, Finland, the collective was founded in 2018 by director/screenwriter/producer Sevgi Eker, producer/editor Anna Nuuros, sound designer/musician Jarkko Kela and cinematographer Theofanis Kavvadas. The founding members of the collective met each other while studying film at Aalto University School of Art and Design and were quickly joined by a shared interest in telling stories that challenge the dominant narrative form while having a strong emphasis on social and political themes. The collective was founded based on these interests - to create and produce stories that challenge the audience while staying in dialogue with social and political topics.

The collective's first collaboration, a single take short film The 99 steps left from the square (2017), was awarded New Nordic Generation award at Norwegian International Film Festival of Haugesund (2018), competed at Slamdance in the Narrative Shorts program among others, and was awarded Best Experimental Film at Helsinki International Short Film Festival in 2018. The 99 steps left from the square (2017) is the first part of an upcoming trilogy of short films examining different forms of violence. The second part, 49 years from the house on the left (2019), had its European premiere at Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival from where it continued to Vienna Shorts and Tampere Film Festival where it was awarded the Golden Shade Award. Both films were also part of the “Displaced” exhibition at Oulu and Lappeenranta art museums. The third part of the trilogy 7 P.M. on a Sunday ( 2022) premiered in the national competition at Tampere Film Festival.
